The Westin Playa Bonita Panama is located next to a lush jungle on Bonita Beach, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It offers a 24-hour gym, an outdoor pool, a sensory spa and 6 restaurants. The deluxe rooms at The Westin Playa Bonita Panama offer views of the sea or the jungle. Each room has a flat-screen TV, an iPod docking station and a coffee machine. The dining options serve Pan-Asian, Mediterranean and Pacific Rim cuisine. There is also a seafood grill, as well as bars and bistros offering lighter dishes. The Westin Playa has a picturesque location 20minutes' drive from the center of Panama City. It is well connected to the Bridge of the Americas and is 8km from Marcos A. Gelabert Airport.

Resolution No. 22068 Panama, September 1, 2021, establishes new requirements for tourists in Panama, effective October 1, 2021.

Any foreigner, as a tourist, being of a nationality that does not require a tourist visa for Panama and who enters the country on or after October 1, 2021, the legal term authorized for the stay as a tourist has been established for up to three (3) months, counted from the date of entry into the Republic of Panama.

Those who are granted a period of less than three (3) months by the immigration authority may request extensions of their stay as a tourist for the same period..

Requirements to enter Panama as tourists:

  • Original passport or travel document with a minimum of three (3) months of validity.

  • Verified reservation of departure from the country, within the established period.

  • Proof of economic solvency for their maintenance and sustenance according to the term of stay in the country, in no case can be less than five hundred dollars ($/.500.00).

  • Comply with the sanitary norms and measures established by the Ministry of Health.

  • Travelers will not have to present a negative COVID-19 test for entry as long as they can provide physical or digital proof of at least 2 (two) doses or complete vaccination scheme endorsed by the WHO, EMA and FDA, equal to or greater than 14 days after the last dose.

  • Non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test taken no more than 72 hours prior to their arrival time in Panama.

    • If a test is not possible within that time frame, a COVID-19 rapid test will be mandated at the airport and the traveler will have to cover the costs of said test (USD $50).

    • If the results are positive, the traveler will be placed under a mandatory 14-day quarantine in a hotel. The cost of the stay must be fully covered by the traveler.

    • Any child or person under 17 years will not have to present a negative COVID-19 test or vaccination record if they are accompanied by an adult when entering Panama.

  • ALL travelers are required to present their completed Electronic Health Affidavit (in physical or digital form) to their airline or carrier BEFORE boarding to Panama. Register and fill out your Health Affidavit

Currency: In Panama, the local currency is the Panamanian Balboa (PAB). In 1904, Panama started using the United States Dollar (USD) as a secondary currency. The Panamanian Balboa ties permanently with the US Dollar, having the same value every time.

Climate: Daily temperatures at the end of September can range from a high of 86 F / 30 C to the low 76 F / 25’s C. September is the wet season in Panama. A light jacket or wrap is recommended.

Dress Code: Please be aware that all conference will be held at the hotel Playa Bonita, so we recommend comfortable dress and walking shoes and also a sweater or wrap is recommended because of the air conditioning.

Copa Airlines: Beginning June 22 Copa Airlines will operate from Terminal 2 of Tocumen International Airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancelations received one month before the conference date will be refunded in full, minus a 25% administration fee.
  • Cancelations received 15 days before the conference date will be refunded in full, minus a 50% administration fee.
  • Cancelations during the conference dates will not be eligible for a refund.
  • The registration fee owed/paid for a participant who must cancel can be transferred to a new unregistered person at no cost.
  • A written request of refund should be submitted to the Executive Director of the TRI Association.
