Building Stronger Teams & Healthier School Cultures

Audience: Athletic Directors, PE leaders and Leaders in general
Time: 4:30-5:30 US Easter time
Dates: Sept. 8, 22, Oct. 13, Nov. 3, 17, Feb. 2, 23, March 16

This webinar series is designed to primarily support athletic directors, coaches, and school leaders in building stronger teams, healthier cultures, and more resilient people (both the leaders and those they lead). While examples will often come from athletics, each session will have broad applications such that teachers, administrators, and leadership teams across international schools could attend as well.

Leadership in schools doesn’t only happen in offices or on fields. In fact, most of the foundational work of a program’s culture occurs in daily interactions, conversations, and small decisions. This series helps leaders shape culture intentionally, develop people effectively, and sustain themselves and support others in demanding roles.

Session Descriptions & Dates:

1. The Four Elements of High-Performing Teams- Sept. 8
Great teams within organizations don’t happen by accident. In this session, participants will explore four essential elements that drive trust, clarity, and shared commitment within teams as developed in the book, The Soul of a Team. Leaders will leave with practical ways to strengthen alignment and performance in their departments, classrooms, and programs.

2. Creating a Culture of Ownership- Sept. 22

Strong cultures are built when people stop saying “that’s not my job” and start asking “how can I help?” This webinar gives leaders tools to foster responsibility, initiative, and accountability without micromanaging. The principles apply equally to coaching staffs, faculty teams, and school departments.

3. Psychological Safety and Learning from Failure - Oct. 13
Growth requires environments where people feel safe to take risks and make mistakes. Leaders will learn how to create cultures where failure becomes a learning tool rather than a source of fear, critical for both student development and healthy adult teams.

4. The Seven E’s of a Mentor Leader- Nov. 3
Sustainable leadership is ultimately about developing people, not just managing tasks. This session introduces seven practical ways leaders can invest in, encourage, and grow those around them, as developed in the book The Mentor Leader.

5. Developing Resilience in Ourselves and Our Teams- Nov. 17
Schools and athletic programs are demanding environments, and resilience must be built intentionally. This webinar focuses on sustainable resilience — habits and mindsets that help leaders and teams recover, adapt, and keep moving forward. Participants will learn how to model and cultivate resilience without promoting burnout.

6. Leading Our Inner Voice: Managing Self-Talk - Feb. 2, 2027
Every leader has an internal voice, one that can quickly cross the line from productive to destructive. This session helps participants recognize and manage negative self-talk, build confidence, and lead with steadiness. The tools shared are relevant for adults and the students they influence.

7. Setting Boundaries Without Losing Influence- Feb. 23
Many school leaders feel overwhelmed because they struggle to say no. This session explores how healthy boundaries actually increase effectiveness, clarity, and trust. Participants will learn how to protect their time and energy while remaining supportive and influential leaders.

8. Looking Behind to Move Ahead- March 16
Reflection can be one of the most powerful growth tools available to leaders. This session offers a healthy approach to regret by helping participants learn from the past without being weighed down by it. This is designed to close a season or school year with clarity and purpose.
