- Global Impact Project:
#MyFreedomDay is an activity that was created for educational communities to take action all over the world in order to raise awareness of human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Colegio Decroly Americano de Guatemala once again took part in this international effort to raise awareness of this problem. We believe it is of vital importance that our students be aware of such global issues, which unbelievably are still happening today. Furthermore, one of our objectives as educators is to help our students understand that we need to join our voices and take action in order to make a change and a real difference. Seniors painted a mural making a statement about modern slavery. Students participated in the collaborative film editing process, supporting this global endeavor and bringing about change.

- Community Impact Project:
Colegio Decroly Americano de Guatemala seeks out opportunities to improve lives by supporting our direct community. Our National Honor Society president, Sofía Orellana, organized, with the NHS members and her chapter advisor, Mrs. Katherine Bement, English classes for the children of our monitoras and maintenance staff. On Saturdays, kids between the ages of 5 and 15 visit our campus to participate in a variety of hands-on English language learning activities. They will take English classes for about 20 hours. Children are divided into classes based on their ages and are exposed to different learning experiences in English. It has been very fulfilling to see our students take an active role in enriching and positively impacting other children who are less fortunate.
